What are dark circles under the eyes?

We have all noticed that after insomnia or at the end of a tiring week, dark circles or more correctly dark semi-circles appear under our eyes. They usually disappear after a good sleep or the required rest. But not for everyone. Some people have permanent dark semi-circles under their eyes. The causes of dark circles

• Anatomical: many people have a skin fold from the inner canthus of the eye to the cheekbone (Dennie Morgan fold) since childhood or a similar fold forms with advancing age. The fold creates a semicircular shadow under the eyes.
• Vascular: the existence of very thin skin in combination with a pronounced vascular network under the eyelids leads to a purple hue of the area under the eyes in some people.
• Hyperpigmentation: inflammation of the skin of the eyelids (allergies, eczema, etc.) in combination with daily sun exposure can usually lead to people with dark skin color in the reactive deposition of pigment (melanin) in the skin under or around the eyes.
• Mixed: a combination of two or all three of the above causes

Treatment
